48 Hours

Hey everybody! What’s up? Happy Friday to you!! 🙂

Haaaaappy Friday!

So I just have to tell y’all about the past 48 hours of my life… I’m almost overwhelmed (in a really good way!) about how awesome it’s been!

I’m starting the last 48 hours at 5:30 on Wednesday night. I went to the 5:30 Pure Barre class at the Ridgeland studio in The Township. I knew my bestie Avery would be teaching because that’s one of her few regular classes! Seeing her always brightens my day! 🙂

Anyway, it was like the best workout I’ve had in ages. I felt really strong for some reason. If any of you do Pure Barre, you know how hard it is for most people to go straight from the forearm plank to pushup position during the warmup without coming to your knees first. I’ve never been good at it. I always have to take a knee! But for some reason, Wednesday I was able to do it! After I realized the truth behind the saying the teachers always remind us of (“You’re stronger than you think!”), I had a great workout and felt WAY stronger and more energized after that workout than I have in possibly forever!

So I was feelin’ good.

I went straight from Pure Barre to girls Bible Study at my friend Sara’s house and the good energy just kept flowin’. Y’all, it was the best night of sharing and opening up with the girls in my life group! I really am sad that not everyone made it to that Bible Study because it was that awesome. We are reading the book He Speaks To Me by Priscilla Shirer and it’s probably the best group study book I’ve had the pleasure of diving into.

Anyway, the book (and most of our discussion) was how to listen when God is speaking. I’ve been having these thoughts in my head about possibly starting a support group with other girls who have been through some hard stuff with fertility and the loss of children, whether born or unborn, but I wasn’t sure if the thought was my own thought, or if it was planted in my head by The Big Man. After discussing with my group about the idea, they encouraged me to do it if I still felt led after praying about it some more. Actually, we all decided to take action on something we felt God was nudging us towards if we still felt led after more prayer. So we all left feeling really encouraged after some great quality girl time together!

Thursday was probably the most productive day of work I’ve had in ages, and i was able to get caught up on a TON of stuff! Great feeling! Then at 4:30 yesterday, I had a meeting with a sweet friend who I’ve known since high school. We actually met with the purpose of discussing an event she’s helping plan, but somehow, 90% of our conversation ended up being about the miscarriages we’ve both had! I mentioned the idea of the support group to her and she was like, “YES! Do it! I’ll be there and I’ll bring food!”

So I was like… “Let’s do this thing!” We whipped out our iPhones and scrolled through our calendars until we found a date that worked for both of us. We set the date for April 26th, right then and there! Even though its still a ways away, I’ve already contacted a few girls about joining us to just chat about our experiences and how God has used these experiences to strengthen our walk with Him! It’s going to be awesome. But I’ll talk more about that as April 26th gets on the radar!

Long story short, I’m VERY excited and super encouraged about starting this group! I told Price about it and he was super supportive of the whole idea, which of course means the world to me that he supports me, too!

Fast forward to this morning. I got some work done from home, got some errands run, and went to visit my sister-in-law Katie at Arco Avenue so she could update me on what’s new at the store. (I’m manning the store while she goes on vacation next week!) We just had the best talk! God reminded me after I left there how blessed I am to have such great family. 🙂

After I left Arco, I called Jill Ford. (Y’all need to check out what she’s up to on her blog, by the way! Incredible stuff!!) She has sort of been a mentor for me for years and years. I babysat her boys when they were little and she’s just been one of those strong, gorgeous, Godly women I’ve looked up to for a long time! Anyway I stopped by her house to pick something up and we ended up talking for a while. It came up in conversation that my favorite color was yellow. I even have a board on Pinterest devoted to the color! She said “Well I know why you like the color yellow! Read Isaiah 11:5.” So I flipped to it. “Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist.”

She’s recently taught me that in Revelation, it talks about what Jesus is wearing right now in Heaven. A white robe with a gold sash around his waist. And what color is yellow when it has a metallic sheen to it? Yep! GOLD! So yellow = gold = faithfulness! Neat, huh?

THEN Jill asked me later in the conversation if I’d ever taken a spiritual gifts test. I had not, so she said I needed to. So shortly thereafter I headed home and was planning to take it right when I walked in the door.

Well, I got distracted… I was hungry, the dogs needed some love, the laundry needed switching over… Blah, blah, blah… So naturally, I forgot to take the test! A few hours later, Jill called and said, “Did you take that spiritual gifts test?”

OOPS!!! No! I forgot!! So I dropped what I was doing and took it right then.

Do you want to guess what one of my top gifts was? Faithfulness!! Yes! The thing that my favorite color stands for!!!! WHAT?! How COOL is that! When I texted Jill my results, she called me immediately and was like, “CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?! How cool is that that God would make that all work together like that?! Your favorite color and your spiritual gift are the same!!”

I was floored… Because I had not even realized the connection when I first got my results back. Did not even register! I’m so glad she called to fill me in! That’s when God brought it to my attention via Jill that I needed to be more perceptive of what’s going on around me! There is amazingness everywhere— we just have to be looking for it!

So all that happened around 4:30 today. I’m still overwhelmed!!!! Amazingness!!!

With all the neat stuff that God has shown me in the past 48 hours, I just had to share! I hope all of you have had a killer (in a good way) past couple of days, too! If you haven’t (or even if you HAVE!), take some time to talk to God. Ask Him to show you something. Talk to Him about what’s troubling you. He hears you!!! Even if He doesn’t show you something immediately, He definitely hears you.

Alright, I guess that does it for me this Friday! I hope you all have a FANTASTIC weekend! Keep praying for God to show you stuff! I know I will be!! What He’s shown me recently is just too cool to not want more… 🙂

XO!
