Back Entry: Before and After

Welcome back from the weekend! I hope all of you had a great one!

I had a little time to tackle some home projects this weekend, and one of the simpler, but more difference-making ones was to clean up our back entry! Since we’ve moved into this house, that has sort of been a dumping ground for all sorts of things… It’s usually where we leave the stroller, it’s where random dog stuff just gets left, it’s where I halfway started a little mail center, then never really make it functional… I found myself throwing junk into the three little cubbies below the bench without any rhyme or reason as to where I was putting things… Here’s what we were dealing with…

Yikes! This could not stay that way forever…

I decided that I’d had enough! That’s the space we walk into every time we come inside, so I wanted it to be prettier and more functional!

I went to target and bought three matching baskets to go in those three cubbies and the rest of the touching up was done at no cost! It just took a little time to organize what went in those baskets.

I added a plant that I formerly had near a window that was letting in too much sun for this particular variety, so I moved it to the bench to add a little pop of life, plus it gets less sun there so the plant is already looking healthier! I had to leave my tripod leaning there because that’s the only place I can leave it where I KNOW I’ll be able to find it! But it doesn’t mess up the aesthetic too much! 😉

I put all the dog leashes that we don’t use into one of the baskets and left out only the ones we do use. (Don’t worry, we have a portrait of Ringo down the hall a little bit! It just didn’t fit here with the beagle portraits!) 🙂

I made a little watercolor piece with Joshua 24:15 on it to remind us as we leave the house to pray that verse over our growing little household! It’s also there with our “mail station” which has envelopes, stamps, a pen, and is where I can set things that I need to remember to mail when I walk out the door. It’s already proven to be very helpful just over the weekend!

Although not a ton really changed here, I am enjoying this space soooo much more! This mini project was a great reminder that a little bit really does go a long way sometimes.

What all did you do this weekend? Any fun projects around the house?
Thanks so much for checking in!!! Have a great Monday!
