Christmas For The Kiddos

I posted a quick little tour of our home decorated for Christmas last week, but I didn’t include pictures of the kids’ rooms because I wanted to post them separately! I love adding just a little touch of Christmas fun to each room in the house, so here is the fun in their rooms!

Wilson’s room has had the same tree for three years now, but I just love it! There are also some other fun little touches like the colored lights on his teepee and the cute little nativity scene!

Lily Ryan has a sweet little tinsel tree with plush ornaments on it that we all just love! She also has a little nativity scene and a couple of other fun touches as well!

All of our halls are decked! Some of our Christmas cards are mailed, and only about half of our Christmas shopping is completed, but since those things have little to do with the true meaning of Christmas, I’m not stressing! It’ll happen and it will all be fine! I’m late with everything these days, so why not be late in the Christmas department too? ha!

This year I’m really trying extra hard (despite all of the distractions) to spend time every morning really focusing on Christmas and its true meaning. It’s actually a little overwhelming! God sent Jesus, his only son, to live life here on earth and eventually die the most horrific death for us!  To save us from eternity in misery! To give us LIFE everlasting! Have you ever sat down and thought about how long eternity is? I try to think of the longest time span I can possibly think about, but my imaginary time spans always have an end. They are finite. But eternity is infinite! It NEVER ends!  And God, through the birth of a precious baby boy Jesus, gives us eternity in perfection if we choose Him!

I am praying that each set of eyes that sees today’s post is somehow stirred by the Holy Spirit in some way. Some of you may feel the nudge to make it right with your neighbor. Or to slow down and carve out just two minutes each day to realign focus during this crazy time of year! Or to realize your “best yes” and quit trying so hard on something that doesn’t matter, whatever that may be. It’s ok to say “Thanks for asking me, but no, I can’t make anything else for the class party this year!” Maybe some of you have felt a soft little knock on your heart and want to open it up to Jesus but are just scared of what it means to follow Him. If you ever need someone to talk to about this, please let me know! I do not have the answers to all of the questions that you (or someone) may have, but I bet I know people who could make things make a lot more sense for you! 🙂

I hope that you are having a merry Christmas season and are able to sneak in a little rest! Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to read today. It means so so much!

Y’all are awesome! 🙂 xo!

THANK EWE, Barzy Lamb, for the wise words! The world is so full of distractions. A realignment of focus is ALWAYS in order. Putting our perspective in the light of eternity makes even the most mundane “chores” full of meaning. Ewer decorations add such DELIGHTFUL reminders of this oh-so-special season…. My heart is singing & praising Him as this day begins. “I CAN HAVE NO GREATER JOY THAN TO HEAR THAT MY CHILDREN WALK IN THE TRUTH.” 3 John 4
