I’ve recently teamed up with a really cool local business that I’m so excited to tell y’all about!!

Colorize Hair Studio, located in Ridgeland sort of close to Freedom Ridge Park (a good landmark for those of you whose husbands play as much softball as mine does in the Spring and Fall… Another story for another time…), is tucked away on South Perkins Street  in a small little strip of businesses!

When you walk in, you’re greeted by 100% coolness. The neat front desk, the beautiful floors with an ebony stain, the mid-century-inspired chairs… A little makeup to your left… A coffee station to your right… A beautiful display of hair products straight ahead… When you go into a salon, what more could you ask for? Oh! I almost forgot to mention the great music they have playing at all times. You could ask for that, and they answer your asking! They’ve got one carefully curated Pandora playlist that will leave you humming your favorite song that you heard while you were in there for the rest of the day!

One thing I really like about this salon is the privacy, not only of the location (because if you just got a wax done on your face, who wants to run into someone you know while you’re walking out to your car?), but of the rooms inside. Each stylist has her own room so you’re not sitting in a wide open room while your post-shampoo, pre blow dry look is on display for public consumption. It’s the little things!

I also love this online scheduling system they have where you can go to their website, click “schedule an appointment” at the bottom of the home page, and it takes you to a page where you can read about the stylists, then book appointments right then and there! Once your appointment is reserved, they send you an email. Then you get another reminder email the day prior to your service! So convenient! For someone who tends to get as scattered as I do, this scheduling service is CLUTCH!

Colorize is the exclusive retailer for Keune hair products (pronounced “keuwn” in the south, or “coo-nay” in The Netherlands, where the company is based. ToMAYto, toMAHtoe…), which is a fabulous line of sulfate and paraben free products that smell amazing. I have some of the Keune So Pure products, which I love, and will tell you about in a later post! I’m trying to achieve the hair that all the girls in Amsterdam had that time we backpacked there. Seriously, that was my #1 takeaway from that city: All the girls had the most beautiful hair! And now it makes sense WHY they had those luscious locks!

They’re also the exclusive retailer of BioIonic styling tools, which have totally changed the way I look at round brushes and curling irons! More on that later, too!
