Date Night In

Work. Church. Coffee meeting. Getting kids to and from school. Dinner meeting. Doing dishes. Family time. Scheduled phone call. School activities. Birthday parties. Doing laundry. Football game weekends. Packing for said weekends. Doctor appointments. Dry cleaning. Grocery runs. Wow. I’m exhausted just typing all of that out! And that’s not even everything! I know most of y’all know what this is like (plus much more if your kids are older than mine and/or if you work a full time job!)

With all the busyness that tends to creep in from week to week, I think it is so important to set aside time to date your spouse! It’s easy to let everything else take over and two weeks will fly by before realizing you’ve barely even had a meaningful conversation with your best friend and everything partner! Since, behind God, your spouse is your TOP relationship priority, it is imperative to keep this relationship as healthy as can be! (Allow me to insert that I am not an expert in this field. But it is something I try to be super conscious of!)

Dating your spouse can take a hundred different forms. For Price and me during this season of our lives, we find that date nights in are one of our the best ways to reconnect. Once we get kids down, we’ll get supper ready together, light some candles, open a bottle of wine, put our phones aside, and just enjoy hanging out. Date night in is one of my favorite things in the world!

On our most recent date night in, we enjoyed a bottle of a fantastic Spanish red from Colony Wine Market called Wrongo Dongo! Wrongo Dongo is a Monastrell wine, which honestly I can’t say I recall ever having before. The label is what caused me to pick it up, then Scott at Colony Wine Market proceeded in telling me how wonderful and versatile it is! The label on the bottle also says that it pairs with almost anything and that you “can’t go wrongo” with this bottle! 😉 (The label also says, “Dongo to the party without it!” soooo there you have it!)

We thought it was fabulous with our favorite chicken and pasta and will absolutely be buying it again!

Thanks so much for stopping in! XOXO!

This is REALLY SWEET as well as VERY WISE advice. In fact, I’ll classify it as – it’s here that I’ll borrow a term from the at-the-time-three-year-old-Jordan – SAGE ADVICE. Yep. Very sage indeed. And you have to say that with a lisp.

    Love these pics!!!!
