Layered Fashinspiration

This week’s look is a layered masterpiece! Elish talks about repurposing old pieces and mixing structure with comfort, all while being work-appropriate! Here’s what she says:

Elish: Layered!

“I finally got to put my winter clothes to use during our brief cool snap! As I mentioned in the last blog post, I’m more of a shorts and skirts girl than a jeans or trousers girl. That being said… my go tos were a pair of recently altered black shorts! These were knee length dress shorts from back in the day that I didn’t want to toss, so I re-purposed them and had them hemmed. I think I’m going to get a lot more use out of them!”

“Adding tights makes any look more polished and office appropriate. I’m drawn to neutrals, but love mixing textures and patterns. My black and white sweater is a go to layering piece and a timeless black blazer added some needed structure. I also love an infinity scarf…I’m a comfy girl at heart and having that around my neck tricks me into feeling a little more relaxed, cozy, and casual.”

“Layering in the winter is any girls secret weapon… You can get away with a much more relaxed look that still looks polished. Colder winter months allow the add-ons that pull everything together: a scarf, hat, vest, button down, tights…the options are endless!”

Thanks Elish! XOXOXX!

I love this look! I wish I had stuff like this in my closet. Love your blog, by the way. I’ve been searching for Mississippi gals lately (boyfriend and I might move back to his hometown near Hattiesburg soon) and found you in a search. 🙂
