Making White Bedding Practical

Making all white bedding practical (when you have three dogs and two kids)
An all white bedroom is a total dream of mine! Unfortunately it’s not all that practical with dogs and kids… So the next best thing to an all white bedroom is simply an all white bed!

I love cozying up in all white sheets under a white duvet and resting my head on a white pillowcase. Since Ringo, our hairiest dog, sleeps with us and since we play with the kids on our bed all the time (one if whom is a toddler meaning he is always sticky/messy and the other of whom has reflux meaning SPIT UP EVERYWHERE), and since the beagles love midday naps on our bed, we’ve had to figure out how to make all white (and off white and cream) practical!

Everything on our bed is washable, which is a plus, but even with a washable duvet cover, I don’t want to have to be laundering that thing every couple of days! That’s why we have big white blankets! Three, actually. And we keep them on constant rotation! One is always on the bed, one is always in the laundry, and one is always folded and ready to replace the one on our bed.

On the rare occasion that we fully make our bed, we keep one of our rotation blankets folded at the foot of the bed, just ready to be pulled up over the bed once we unmake it, get in, and invite the pups in for a TV party! Even when the bed is unmade and the big blanket is covering everything, it’s still very inviting because it is all white! 🙂

The blankets we currently have are ones we’ve had for years, so they’ve definitely been worth the small investment, but here are some other great options for good rotation blankets. All of these come in king and queen sizes, are washable, and are white!

// 1 (on sale for $40) // 2 (I especially love the subtle pattern on this one!) 😉 // 3 (West Elm always has a winning option) // 4 (pretty pattern here!) // 5 (Thanks, Amazon, for a good $25 option!)

Other pretty washable white bedding options…

Love this cotton duvet cover and what a great price!! // Have and love these sheets! // Beautiful linen duvet cover // Add a little extra texture with some pin tuck shams!

Side Note: Price and I got two of these pillows as a wedding gift and we love them so much that we replaced all of our bed pillows in the whole house with these! We’ve even had guests/family members ask where we got them! Price’s mom may or may not have asked for these for Christmas a few years back… They’re THE best!
