As you might have read in yesterday’s post, I mentioned that my beautiful friend Elish was going to take over today and share some fun tips on couples styling for photos! Taking pictures as a couple really is SO much fun! If you can’t afford a professional photographer at the time, just get a friend to snap some shots! Either way, you’ll end up with a fun experience, some keepsake photos, and the start to a super fun date!
I’ll let Elish share more!
“My dear, talented friend Laurel spends a lot of time with her camera. Behind it, in front of it, editing from it, and so on. She thought it would be fun to do a post on styling a shoot with your significant other as a date idea! (I know how hard it is to get a guy’s confirmation for photos… but he can kill two birds with one stone if you spin it as a date as well! #winning)
I heart pulling together an outfit. It’s a fun little challenge every morning as I get ready. Where am I going? What does my day entail? You have to consider the setting, the surroundings, the audience, etc…
For a couples photo shoot, consider the one you’ll be shooting with. You may want to wear a high-fashion, bold, lady gaga-esque ensemble… but can your date wear something that balances the look? Consider the other person. Now I do have to give my husband some credit… except for me making him immediately give up a message tee with some graffiti reminiscent of a Sons of Anarchy motorcycle gang emblem he came home with one day, he can style himself pretty well. (Everybody makes mistakes) So for the days your significant other doesn’t innately channel Johannes Huebl, here are a few questions to ask yourself:
1. What is a style we will both feel comfortable in and reflects our personalities?
2. What look will photograph well in the setting we’ve chosen?
3. How can we work with the weather?
My last piece of advice… COMPROMISE and HAVE FUN. Don’t take things too seriously. It’s a date and you just may happen to walk away with some fun memories immortalized! 🙂 The two of you having fun is actually what translates best in a photo, anyway, so that is the MOST important thing! Have fun! :)”
So much love!! 🙂
Big thanks to Elish for sharing!! Are she and her hubs not THE cutest?! Love them!
Thank y’all for dropping by today! I hope your week is going well! See ya back here tomorrow! 🙂 xo!
