Thankful

 Thankful

Today, I wanted to take a second and reflect on some of the things I’m thankful for. I know this is a bit cliche, but I don’t really care. My heart has been overwhelmed with thanksgiving lately! AND, since Thanksgiving Day is upon us, it only seems appropriate to share a bit of what I’m thankful for!

I’m overwhelmingly thankful for my family, my friends, the fact that my husband and I have steady work and a roof over our heads, the fact that I have food to eat, the fact that I live in a free country… But I’ve tried to be more thankful for things outside the norm lately, too!

I’m thankful for our life group at church who provides absolutely the best community a girl could ask for. I’m thankful that I am able to be home with my kids most afternoons and take them outside to play. I’m thankful we have a yard in which we can play! Speaking of playing outside, I’m thankful for the lessons our dogs have taught our kids about kindness and responsibility. I’m thankful for a fun marriage and travel and inside jokes! 🙂

Christmas music and twinkle lights. I’m thankful for the bright spots they provide in my days recently! The staff at my kids’ school. My incredible, second-to-none coworkers and boss. My health! My husband’s health. My kids’ health. Those are huge! The fact that I’ve found time to get Christmas cards together somewhat early this year! The devotional book I’m reading right now that equips me with scripture and encouragement to be a better mommy. The fact that our dishwasher and washing machine work. For makeup! 😉 And caffeine. For a sofa on which I can snuggle with my people. For jokes that my husband tells that make me laugh til it hurts. Chocolate and the happy feelings it gives! Febreeze and scented candles. (<< Overwhelmingly thankful! #dogs) A car. Keys that I haven’t lost. Clothes to wear. Jackets for when it’s chilly. Chilly weather! A savior who already saved the world and the peace I have amidst the chaos that is the world today because of that. Little nativity sets to remind me that He is the reason not only for the season, but for EVERYTHING!

Lastly, I’m thankful for my blog readers and the support y’all provide! This little blog is a fun outlet for me. It’s a dream that continues to grow. It’s a way for me to put a little bit of myself out there that I might not otherwise make known. For whatever reason, this blog gives me a strange confidence. I can’t really explain it. But I pray that Jesus uses the words I leave here to maybe plant a seed, or water a seed, or just be a little tiny light!

🙂

Anyway, I’m about to head off to my parents’ house for Thanksgiving dinner number one. Please know that I’m WAY thankful for you! Thank you for stopping by today!! I would love to hear something random (or not random!) that YOU are thankful for in the comments below!!

Laurel, thank EWE for the sweet reminder that true THANKFULNESS is ? to knowing where to direct our thanks (as cited in James 1:17❤️) … love how ewe said He “already saved the world” (✝️“IT IS FINISHED!”) ⬅️ the paradigm shift which frees us to revel in Him & the blessings He showers upon us… Children are just SO GREAT in the endless list of blessings I’m thankful for… Lee & I love this verse: I HAVE NO GREATER JOY THAN TO HEAR MY CHILDREN WALK IN TRUTH. 3John4
