Twinkle Lights and Greenery

With another sweet little bundle of love on the way, I’ve been really thinking about our second nursery! I originally designed our first nursery with the idea that we could use it for bebe #2, but since these little kiddos will be so close together, they’re going to each need their own nurseries!

I’ve always been extra inspired by baby rooms that have either (a) twinkle lights or (b) greenery in some form or fashion. Since having a live plant in the nursery isn’t always the best idea (because in our case, Wilson tries to pull the pot over so he can play in the dirt), I love the idea of having artwork of green plants too!

Here’s a roundup of some of my favorite inspirational rooms…

How precious are all these rooms?! All the original sources can be found on this pin board, BTW!

I have always loved these twinkle lights — the hue of the warm ones is just so pretty! We have some on our mantle in our living room (AND they’re a great price!)

These from Anthro on the copper wire sure are pretty, too…

If you like the bigger size of traditional Christmas lights but like the white wire like I do, you can get them here! I’ve found that the closer it gets to the holidays, the harder and harder it gets to find the lights you want! They sell out quickly! As of today, these seem to be in good stock though!

When it comes to greenery in a baby’s room, you’ve gotta be careful since some plants are poisonous! I found this helpful list that has 10 non-toxic plants that also look really cool! There’s even a pink plant on there if you’re looking to add a little life to your baby girl’s room!

If you’re not comfortable adding a real plant in your kid’s room, I think wall art of green plants is SO pretty, too! Check out these cool finds…

LOVE this cactus print!

Speaking of cacti… How amazing is this wallpaper?! Obsessed! Seriously.

We actually have this print in Wilson’s bathroom and I LOVE IT! It was sold out for months so it was a real test of patience waiting on this little beaut, but good things come to those who wait! 😉

A few others pretties can be found here, here, and here (designed by my friend Kristen!)

We are finding out our new babe’s gender and telling this time, in contrast to the route we went last time, so once we know, I’m excited to really get moving on designing a nursery! I’ve already got a rug and a paint color picked so I’m ready to move full steam ahead (on a budget, of course… bleh) once we know what this lil one is! 🙂

Hope you have a great weekend and I’ll talk to y’all soon! Thanks so much for reading!

So glad you posted the list for non-toxic plants! I want to add some greenery to our Oliver Green’s nursery…I mean it just wouldn’t seem right to not have some! 😉 I’m thinking a small pot of jade up on a high shelf!

Love the name Oliver Green! Of course he needs some non-toxic plants in his room! 😉 I was so happy to stumble upon that list, too!!

Love it! I’m dying for E to have a teepee in her big girl room! 🙂

      There’s just something about a teepee isn’t there?! 🙂

I love those twinkle lights and had some on a canopy (like a feminine teepee) hanging in Ivy Frances’ bedroom from Restoration Hardware. Let me just say it was ripped down numerous times by her little brother. It’s still down. I got a precious teepee from Restoration Hardware for Henry. Louis knocks it down!!!
Go with the wallpaper!!! Ivy Frances has “Ivy” wallpaper on her bathroom. So far it’s the only great idea that is still in place!
