Wonder seeking, rephrasing everyday chats, and forgiveness

I jotted a few things down in my journal this weekend that I wanted to share as we start this new week! First, some flower photos that inspired a little wonder in my life earlier today! 🙂

change the way you phrase things

.

What if, instead of saying, “We are so lucky we were able to get a table big enough for our large party!” we say, “What a blessing we were able to find a table big enough for all of us!”

And instead of saying, “It was a total coincidence that I ran into an old friend at Target today,” we say, “In God’s most perfect timing, I ran into an old high school friend today and our short conversation was just what my heart needed!”

It doesn’t really change the idea we are presenting a whole lot, but I feel like it would put our hearts in a more grateful position of humility. And that’s always a good place to be! 🙂 I’m gonna try doing this more! Join me? 🙂

Forgiveness > Shame

.

Thinking about Peter towards the end of the book of John here. If I were Peter, I might’ve been filled with shame for denying Jesus multiple times as he was on his way to the cross. But Peter knew… When he saw Jesus several days after the crucifixion and resurrection… He didn’t have to hide in shame. He knew he could run into the sweetest forgiveness. Which is just what he did! I just love this picture.

Lord, help me to be a wonder seeker!

WONDER IS EVERYWHERE!! Let’s look for it together.

Have a splendid day! XO!
