This past Saturday was possibly one of the most relaxing ones I’ve had in a loooong time! I slept in, played with the pups, made myself some breakfast in bed (Price was playing golf in Starkville!), and flipped through the brand new Porter Magazine! It was glorious…
Breakfast was a lovely medley of strong black coffee, turkey bacon, and some healthy pancakes using a new recipe! It was so easy– only 3 ingredients!! I did switch up one thing, and used ground almonds in place of almond butter. Topped with a little Smart Balance, a drizzle of honey, and a dash of cinnamon, I was set!
As for the magazine… I absolutely loved it! I haven’t had a chance to read all of the stories yet, but this is the first magazine I’ve flipped through in a long time where I actually WANTED to read all of the stories! Fashion made practical. Love it! Delta pup joined me in the enjoyment, too! 🙂
One of my favorite stories that I did get a chance to read was called “find your fighter weight.” It talks about how health is greater than skinniness and includes some great insight from the one and only Cindy Crawford was well as a bit from Jennifer Lawrence’s trainer. I loved this quote from Dalton Wong, JL’s trainer!
“I’ve seen a huge shift among my clients away from wanting to be super-skinny. They’ll tell me, ‘My husband or boyfriend loves my curves. I don’t want to be a rake, I just want to be healthier.'”
I’ve definitely been guilty of seeking thinness over health, but these days, I find myself happiest when I’m working out, eating right, and not obsessing over the number on the scale!
The photo editorial on Gisele was gorgeous, but I have yet to read the story that accompanies it. I’ve been a G fan ever since I was in 8th grade… Honestly, her being on the cover was one of the main reasons I picked this mag up! I have a girl crush… I admit… 🙂
ANYWAYS…
I hope all of you had a beautiful weekend, too! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by! XO!
