Four years ago today, we witnessed a miracle! 🥰 Four years ago today, we witnessed a miracle! 🥰 When Dempsey was born in November of 2018, we quickly found out that he was profoundly deaf. Could not hear a THING. We also quickly found out that he was a candidate for getting cochlear implants, which would give our boy the ability to hear! In august of 2019, Dempsey had cochlear implant surgery, and that next month, four years ago today, his ears were turned on!! In the CI world, we call it activation day 🤩 Our precious doctors, all of whom I thank God for every day — I mean, the fact that God gave people smart enough brains to produce, implant, and monitor this technology is simply incredible!! — have taken the best care of our little dude. We are GRATEFUL!! Dempsey’s first day of hearing was so joy-filled (although he did have his moments where he got fussy and when he took his ears off — after living in the complete quiet for almost 11 months, I can imagine your first day of hearing to be A LOT 😂) and we love re-living the smiles from that day! This is my favorite scripture for this part of our lives: 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, which says, “And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” ONLY GOD. So grateful!!! 💛 the benefits of bed making 💛 I haven’t 💛 the benefits of bed making 💛 I haven’t always been a consistent bed maker, but I forced myself to become one several months ago, and I have not looked back! I am absolutely loving it! you long-time bed makers are probably laughing at me 😂 NONETHELESS, here are my favorite bed making benefits! 💛 it’s so nice to walk into my room and have it look just that much more put together! 💛 when it is made, dogs and kids are less likely to root around in the sheets/sit under the covers and eat snacks. Which in the long run keeps the sheets cleaner! 💛 it is an easy two minutes I can spend in the beginning of the day getting things off on a more organized foot. 💛 I get to enjoy our bedding! When it is stacked against the wall, next to an unmade bed, I don’t get to enjoy it. 💛 there is something about taking the throw pillows off and sliding my feet between the cool, smooth sheets, that just feels better at bedtime! 💛 studies show that people who make their bed are generally more productive throughout the day!
