Some of my favorite styles that I’ve seen this fall have been corset-inspired. This trend seems to be flattering on just about any body type, cinching in your waist if you have one, or creating the illusion of one if you don’t! (Also, who doesn’t want to feel like Scarlett O’Hara for two seconds while tying the string?!) So naturally, when I saw this top at h&m on our recent visit to NYC, I snagged it! Not only did I love the ivory color and the cut of it, but it was a killer price (which is why I love h&m!)
Since I’ve had kids, I’ve become like the worst packer ever because I rarely get to pack for leisure any more. I’m usually scrambling to catch up on laundry, trying to get the kids packed to either go on the trip with us or go stay with someone else, and helping Price find everything he needs. Because of this, my packing for the aforementioned New York trip was just a joke. I got there and was sifting through the stuff I bought to wear and really began to question my sanity… There was very little rhyme or reason…
Anywho, this shirt actually ended up being a life saver for me because I was able to throw it on over the random silver dress I packed (still not real sure where I was planning to wear that on the trip. I do love it, though, don’t get me wrong!) to create a look that was dressy enough for the afternoon tea that my sweet cousin invited us to, but casual enough for dinner with friends! Since our return, I’ve also worn the ensemb to work, too!
