Welcome back from the weekend! I hope everyone’s Monday is off to a decent start! 🙂
A couple of weeks ago, my family got to go to one of the most fun weddings EVER in Washington DC! The bride was my beautiful cousin Missye and getting to celebrate her marriage to Bryan alongside the family was just a blast!
We did lots of fun wedding stuff, and were able to sneak in some other adventure as well!
Here’s the whole fam at Bryan and Missye’s wedding day brunch!
… And here’s my first bump pic! 🙂 (I’m looking in a weird direction, so disregard that…)
One of the most wonderful places we grabbed a bite was called Shake Shack. I’d never heard of it before, but Price had, and insisted we go. I’m here to tell you that Shake Shack has one AWESOME burger. I’m not sure I’ll ever be the same! Their concretes aren’t so bad either… This one actually had a crumbled up donut in it! YUMMM!
If you’re a fan of The Pacific (an HBO mini series that came on a couple of years ago), then you might laugh a little every time you see the world “Guadalcanal” too! I can’t really repeat the line from the show about this place, but it’s a funny one! And the series is awesome if you’re a WW2 fan!
We made it by to see that famous Pennsylvania Avenue residence!
… And saw some sun peeking cheerfully through some trees that lined a little sidewalk on the way!
One of my favorite places we visited was at the suggestion of my friend Avery, and it was a place in Georgetown called Baked and Wired! We got a snack of cupcakes and coffee and thoroughly enjoyed them! I can’t remember exactly what my cupcake was called, but it was a pancake cupcake with maple frosting and candied bacon on top! It was serious!
Missye and Bryan’s wedding reception was at a GORGEOUS place called The Mellon auditorium, and since purple is Missye’s favorite color, they very tastefully had the place accented with the happy hue! It was drop dead!!
Lastly, here are Price and me with the lovely lady who gave us a reason for the trip!
Thanks again to our sweet family who hosted us in DC and showed us an amazing time! We hope to make it back sometime in the not-too-distant future for some more memory-makin’!
Have an awesome day and I’ll talk to y’all really soon! Thanks for stopping in! XO!
Hey Laurel,
Thanks for the blog shout-out! We’re so glad you enjoyed eating at the Shack. We hope to see you back again soon!
The Shake Shack Team
Sure thing! 🙂 I would go every week if I could! Maybe y’all should consider opening one in the Jackson, MS area?! 😉
