Well if it isn’t another Tuesday! I like Tuesdays because they always mean one thing… Monday is over and we’re six days from another Monday… Can I get an amen!?
Yesterday for me started out with a huuuuge mess… I cleaned out the fridge Sunday night, so there were a lot of food scraps, old beans, two-week-old meat, etc. in the kitchen garbage can. Well, early yesterday morning, our mischievous little beagles with their adventurous little noses found their way over to the garbage can and were able to get the door to the garbage can open, despite the little thing we installed to prevent them from getting in. They were successful in pulling out the whole bag, spreading trash alllll over the kitchen and den, and eating a bunch of stuff they should not have eaten! When I found the massive mess, I was like… “Oh, hello, Monday…” (Imagine Jerry Seinfeld greeting Newman here.)
So I cleaned it up, spanked the dogs (which Price says is more of a little love pat than an actual spank. I disagree!), then made a decision not to let something like that get me off on the wrong foot! I went and did my quiet time (I’m still in He Speaks to Me by Priscilla Shirer– SO GOOD!) and felt much better by the end of it!
I then remembered that I need to be thankful for all of the lovely in my life, and not let one [big] little beagle mess ruin my day!! Can I get another amen?!

Speaking of Lovely Lately… Here are a few things that I’ve enjoyed or have made me extra happy over the past couple of weeks!
(1) Getting some Thank You cards done in gold foil! The writing is my calligraphy, and my friend at a local print shop had the calligraphy done in gold foil!! So excited about these!!!
(2) Having the opportunity to write about some deeeelicious fried chicken for the Highland Village blog!
(3) Finding this thought-provoking nugget of wisdom by Priscilla Shirer. This REALLY made me think… What would people say is important to me? What all do I talk about? Am I making an impact for the Lord or am I just talking to fill time? I need to be more aware!
(4) Enjoying a super clean kitchen. It’s the little things… 🙂
(5) Finding this yummy coffee cake recipe! It calls for Greek yogurt, which I thought I had, but turned out I didn’t, so I found a pretty cool substitute! In place of the Greek yogurt, I food processed together an apple and some fat free cream cheese to get sort of a yogurt consistency. I used that instead and I thought it tasted pretty dang good!
(6) Getting the go-ahead to share some BIG NEWS! I’m going to be an AUNT!!!! My brother and sister-in-law are expecting!! EEEEE!!! New titles take effect in October… 🙂
What lovely things have you experienced lately?!
Your pups sound like mine! They are always getting into mischief, and garbage diving is one of their favorite activities! That is awesome you wrote for the Highland Village blog! Do you do that often? Love that Julep chicken. And congrats on becoming an aunt!
