James Wall

A little over a month ago, I decided that I wanted more scripture incorporated into our home. After reading Armor of God by Priscilla Shirer and realizing the importance of protecting against the enemy, whose main mission it is to steal, kill, and destroy, I knew that having scripture everywhere to remind us of God’s power and faithfulness couldn’t possibly be a bad idea! 😉 This idea overlapped with a years-long desire I’ve had to wallpaper the potty room of my bathroom. The Lord put on my heart to put those two ideas together and paint scripture in place of wallpaper in that little room!

I originally planned to do the whole book of James – one of my favorites in scripture + it’s pretty short – but after painting the first two lines, realized I started out WAY too big and wasn’t going to get the whole thing up haha so I decided to start varying the size of the text and just get as much of the book up as I could!

I got my five paint colors from Home Depot. The colors are all BEHR:

  1. Zero Gravity (cool gray)
  2. Gentle Sea (blue)
  3. Cassia Buds (purple)
  4. Taffy Twist (pink)
  5. Trick or Treat (orange)

I started with Zero Gravity and painted a few lines, then did a mix of half zero gravity, half Gentle Sea. After a couple of lines of the mix, I went to full Gentle Sea. Then after a few lines of Gentle Sea, I did half Gentle Sea and half Cassia Buds… And repeated that method til the bottom when I ended in Trick or Treat. I love how it turned out!! And the mixing of the colors made the ombre effect that I was going for really work out! 🙂

I also answered a bunch of questions I had about this wall in THIS video! 🙂

I love seeing this every day and am so glad this idea was placed on my heart! God’s word is so good, and makes great artwork, too! 🙂

Thank you for being here!! YOU ARE LOVED!
