Pretty Hard

The HARD can be PRETTY if you let it

A friend’s husband asked me the most peculiar question over a group brunch last summer. He asked, “if you could describe your blog and social media presence in one word, what’s your word?”

I thought for about five seconds, then answered him. ✨“LIGHT.”✨

I said, “I want to use my voice, albeit small, to share light. Love. Jesus. Positivity. I love sharing joy and encouraging others to do the same. I want to be a LIGHT!”

I pray often that God would use this little light of mine to share love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. Something that’s been on my heart lately are two words: PRETTY HARD.

Life can be pretty hard. I know for some, life is VERY hard. It’s been neat to sit back and learn the past few days, examine the status of our nation, and see hearts poured out because of the pretty hard. It’s been pretty hard for me to learn some things about myself that frankly I did not realize before. But through the pretty hard, I’ve noticed the PRETTY in the HARD.

It’s been really pretty BEAUTIFUL to see the effort being made to bridge the gap between black and white. It’s been a hard, exhausting week. But I see the pretty in the hard. People are making a very conscious effort to learn and grow and I love that!! I’m committed to always learning and doing better. I want to let my light shine and show love, always. I know we still have along way to go, but we can all start somewhere and commit to better. Nothing ever worth doing is easy. It can be pretty hard. But because of that, THE HARD IS PRETTY 💛

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:5

Loved this take on what is happening in our world! I have tried to set a good example for our family that it is easy to love nice, sweet people ! The hard part is loving the sometime mean and ugly acting people! The two words we have to learn from Jesus is LOVE and FORGIVENESS!
