My brother Jordan and his wife Katie know how to throw a party!
Over the weekend, they threw their fifth annual Pumpkin Laceration Celebration (abbreviated PLC), which is their twist on a Halloween pumpkin carving party! I loved every detail of this little shin-dig, so I got Katie’s permission to share all about it with y’all! 🙂
My favorite aspects of this year’s PLC were sweets related. (Who is surprised?!) The first show-stopping portion of the evening was the S’MORE BAR!
Not only were there the traditional s’more ingredients of Hershey’s chocolate, graham crackers, and marshmallows, but they had ROLOS and REESES too!!! I had a Reeses s’more and it. was. glorious….
They had a great fire going upon which we could cook the marshmallows… Fires are reason #842 of why I love fall…
The other food aspect that got me all excited was the CANDY BAR… It was classy Halloween perfection!
The last incredible edible item I’ll share is a baked donut cake in the shape of a skull! It was every bit delicious as it is cool looking! Katie killed it with this thing!
Even though the food was what made the most lasting impact on me, the actual reason for the party — pumpkin carving — was super awesome, too!! Price and I usually come into the PLC with a solid idea of what we’re going to carve on our pumpkin, but this year, we were a little last minute, so we resorted to something related to our current obsession of Breaking Bad: a Heisenburg face. It didn’t turn out as well as I’d hoped, so I didn’t even take a picture of it… But here are a couple of snaps of my friend Jonathan carving a Bane face (from The Dark Knight Rises) onto his pumpkin and of all the pumpkins lit up!
Prizes were awarded to the haunted house/castle pumpkin, the Goofy pumpkin, and the old oak tree pumpkin! (Everyone in attendance voted for their faves, and those were the top three!)
Overall, we had SUCH a blast, and I’ll forever be impressed with Katie and Jordan’s party planning skillz! Hope you enjoyed the pics of their creativity as much as I enjoyed being surrounded by it! 🙂
Have a great one, and thanks for stopping by!
