When it’s 3:00 and I need an afternoon cup of coffee, but it’s 100 degrees outside, I’m not always in the mood for a hot cup of joe. Half the time I’m needing to get out and run errands, chase kids, or get work done around the house. Caffeine is a must, but it’s gotta be cold!
I have been making this skinny iced mocha recipe lately and have been really enjoying it! It’s nothing fancy, but it’s tasty, super skinny, and definitely gets me the lift I need!
Here’s what ya need:
1/2 cup brewed coffee (0 calories)
1 Starbucks Via packet (0 calories)
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (15 calories)
1/8 tsp. vanilla extract (3 calories)
1/2 tsp. cocoa powder (6 calories)
1 1/2 to 2 packets stevia (depending on how sweet you like things – 0 calories)
ice (0 calories)
Calorie total: 24
I’m not usually a fan of using instant coffee for much, but Starbucks Via is wayyyy better than your regular instant coffee! And when your 1/2 cup of brewed coffee is fresh (a.k.a., will melt your ice), you’re going to need to make the coffee stronger. Via does just the trick!
I brew my small cup of coffee and mix in the Via, stevia, vanilla, and cocoa powder. I usually use a small whisk to get the cocoa thoroughly mixed in! Then I transfer to whatever cup I want to drink out of, add the almond milk and fill it to the top with ice, and get on with my day!
I hope you enjoy this little pick-me-up! Thanks so much for dropping by today. Means the world to me! Have a GREAT one! XO!
