Last week, my best gal, Lily Ryan, and I got to have a super fun, very girly spend the night party in a hotel! Something she’s been talking about doing for months now! Some friends were able to join us to make this experience even more magical– I am so excited to share details!
HUGE thanks to the sweet people at The Township, an eat/shop/live/work/play development in Ridgeland, for helping make our staycation such a success!
Here’s how it went down:
After running carpool on Thursday afternoon, I dropped the boys off at home with a sitter and Lily Ryan and I headed to The Township to check into our hotel– Springhill Suites! Our rooms were so nice and bright and of course clean!, and I could tell the beds were super comfy just by looking at them! 🙂 Calistoga, the wine store at The Township, had gifted us a bottle of prosecco for us mamas to enjoy later on, which I thought was SO sweet!
We set up some little treats (which included crowns, pajamas, bracelets, face masks, fingernail polish, and snacks!) for our friends who would be joining us later, then headed out the door and across the parking lot to Saver Express for a delicious strawberry milkshake!
I’m not sure if you can tell or not, but the milkshake was a HIT! If you’re ever looking for an old fashioned treat, remember that Saver Express has a dairy counter! They also have a great little curated selection of gift items. I ended up going back and getting some stocking stuffers for the kids!
After enjoying our milkshake, Lily Ry and I set out to get some stickers on our Pumpkin Passport, which was part of the Pumpkin Hunt that The Township had going last week. It’s over now, but if they do it again next year, you MUST get in on it! Lilz had THE BEST TIME with it!
Here’s how the Pumpkin Hunt worked: You stopped into any of the participating stores and found the pumpkins they had hidden somewhere in their shop. If you found a pumpkin, you got a sticker on your passport. If you made a purchase, you got two stickers! Once your passport was full with eight stickers, you were able to turn it in and get entered into a drawing for $500 to spend at The Township! When I tell you Lily Ryan got into it, I mean she was IN. TO. IT!!!
We stopped into SummerHouse, Row 10 baby, Signature Gifts, Arco Avenue, Ray’s Boutique, and Green Oak to get our stickers. Purchases at two of those stores got us to our eight stickers!
The photo of Lil on the sofa is from Ray’s Teen Boutique, then SummerHouse, then SummerHouse again, then Row 10, then Signature Gifts, then Signature Gifts again, then Green Oak! I completely forgot to snap a pic in Arco Avenue. But how about this– you go look at it yourself in person! Pictures don’t do it justice anyway! 😉
One thing I was particularly thrilled to learn is that Green Oak is carrying ornaments and a few other pieces from Mustard Seed this year! I got to partner with Mustard Seed last year and I LOVE their stuff!
After gathering a bunch of stickers, it was time to meet our friends at Sombra for some mexican! I absolutely love Sombra. Their margs and chips are second to none, and I’m totally stuck in a rut with either the brisket tacos or their chicken fajitas!
After a delicious meal at Sombra, it was time to get our littles back to the hotel for some pajamas, movie, popcorn, and beauty treatments! (You’ll notice that there were three little girls and two mamas– we borrowed a friend’s daughter since that friend had a newborn at home and couldn’t make the overnight stay happen this time!)
It was such a great night. And I slept so hard in the cozy bed! Springhill Suites has really good pillows, which I think makes a HUGE difference. Nobody wants to sleep with a sub-par pillow!
Once we got up, packed up, and got dressed, we were off on foot to Fusion for some coffee and breakfast. It was the prettiest crisp and sunny day, ideal for a walk with some cute girls! After a leisurely breakfast, we all went our separate ways for the day. We cannot WAIT to do something like this again!!
And the great thing about The Township is, we could do this same concept again and completely vary it up! Different hotel, different shops, different restaurants… That’s what I love about that shopping center! And since I worked there (at SummerHouse) for twelve years, it’s almost like a home away from home for me. 🙂
