Cupcake Season

Lily Ryan and I have been super into cupcakes lately (for no particular reason) and I’m LOVING it! It’s officially cupcake season at our house. She’s getting so good at helping me measure ingredients. She’s even a pro at cracking an egg without getting shell in the mixture! I love watching how excited she gets about the process. I used to absolutely LOVE baking with my mama when I was little, so I’m excited that I get to pass that on. Licking the beaters together after the cupcakes go in the oven is the most fun 🙂

The best part is letting Lily Ry decorate. This cupcake might be one of the prettiest ones I’ve ever seen!

We’ve been using this recipe for the cupcakes, and this one for the icing. (This combo 100% reminds me of Hummingbird Bakery cupcakes!) And these days, I’m sure to keep lots and lots of sprinkles on hand.

It’s cool to be in a moment and actually recognize that you’re making lifelong memories! What’s uncool is the amount of calories in these things… After we learn baking and decorating skills, we also learn self control skills. Ha!
