Funny Story About These Jeans

So I partner with this amazing brand called Long Tall Sally, which I LOVE AND ADORE because they make threads for us longer framed gals, lessening our finding-pants-long-enough woes. My newest piece from them is this fabulous pair of high-waisted jeans! I’m super into high waist right now because I feel like a high waist can hide a multitude of midsection imperfections! 😉 The super dark wash also helps with that!

Speaking of that dark wash…

So I got these about two weeks ago, but the first time I got to wear them was on our weekend trip to Gatlinburg (which we got home from on Monday!) I, like an idiot, just threw them in my suitcase and started wearing them without washing them.

I was immediately in love with them because the material is the SOFTEST!! Putting on these jeans is like putting on the softest, most buttery garment you can think of. The stretchy quality to this denim is just the best. ANYWAY…

The first day I wore them was Saturday. We played goofy golf, walked around for miles exploring the town, and eating and moonshine tasting til we could do any of the aforementioned no longer. Our last meal that day was at a little hole in the wall Italian place called Taste of Italy. When we were paying at the counter, I handed the checkout lady our bill while Price handed her the credit card. Price was taken aback that my fingers were BLUE! He asked if I was cold, and I was like, “yes I’m freezing! I’ve been cold all day!” and he was like. “I have never noticed how blue your long phalanges turn when you’re cold!” and I was like, “whoa, me neither… But I do think I have poor circulation because of how freaking long I am.”

So we just left it at that.

Fast forward to Monday and I was looking for something comfy to wear on the plane back home, so I put these jeans back on! As I was going through security at the airport, of COURSE I was randomly selected for a full pat down. That always seems to happen to me!

Nevertheless, I had to hold my hands out so the TSA agent could swab my palms. As she was doing so, she asked if I “suffered from poor circulation.” It was at that moment that I put two and two together! Each time I had worn these jeans–  which, remember, had never been washed — I had been standing around with my hands in my pockets whenever I could to help combat my chilliness and keep my fingers warm. The indigo dye from the pants was rubbing off on my hands! Here I was thinking for several days that I really needed to make an appointment to get my blood flow checked because my hands were just SUPER blue! ha!

I think Price was relieved to find that, although the circulation to the tips of each of my long fingers probably isn’t the best, I don’t “suffer from poor circulation” to the point of having completely blue skin!

To make a long story short, (A) I think my circulation is fine, (2) I sincerely LOVE these jeans– they are so so comfortable, and (D) you should probably wash them before wearing.

I’ve included lots of fun tops similar to mine, which is from H&M but has sold out since I bought it, in the rotation below! I’ve gotten so many compliments on it!

I know I’ve been a little M.I.A. on the blog this week, but I have a really good reason! My amazing boss at SummerHouse has been taking over Traditional Home’s Instagram in this thing they do called Designer Takeover, and since I’m her social media girl, I’ve spent all my time working on those posts! It’s juuuust a hair intimidating when you’re putting photos and copy out t0 nearly half a million people!!! But Lisa (my boss) was so much fun to work closely with, and I think we did a decent job! Feel free to check out the last several posts on TH’s instagram and give them some likes! 🙂

I promise to be a more consistent blogger next week!!

Thank y’all SO MUCH for stopping by today! It means the absolute world! 🙂 I hope y’all have had an amazing week!
