Haute Heifer

As of this morning, I’ve officially completed one of the most unique and fun Lovely Bee projects to date! I was asked by a sweet friend to come up with a cow concept on cards.

"Haute Heifer" cards | The Lovely Bee

Her grandfather is a cattle farmer, so she wanted to give some cards to her mother and grandmother that remind them of him! After quizzing her about the exact type of cow her grand dad had, I was able to get on “the Google” (as some people I know refer to it), find some inspiration, and sketch out some ideas. After a couple of failed ideas, we ended up going with the cow head. Simple and clean.

This particular variety of cow is solid white, so to keep the cow on the card white, but to keep it from being boring, we went with a gold dusted white paper for the design. That was then mounted on a pretty turquoise/Tiffany blue and applied to both white and acid green cards to mix things up!

I’m pumped about how these turned out, and hope the recipients of these cards enjoy them as a reminder of the man around which they were designed!

I absolutely love making cards with a story and personal meaning behind them!
Thanks for trusting me with what I’ve dubbed “The Haute Heifer Project,” MG! 😉
