Newport Beach Visit

A trip to Newport Beach, California

A couple of weeks ago, Price and I got the wonderful opportunity to take a little getaway to the other side of the country for a few days! It was just him and me. A much needed time to reconnect and enjoy each other without our [awesome] kiddos around! I’ve heard it said by several parties that a getaway for a married couple that has kids is one of the most important things you can do to keep your marriage strong! I’m beginning to agree with all of those folks. Time away with Price is always so special!!

So our getaway to California had two parts: the first part was to Newport Beach, then we drove down to L.A. for part B!

Today I wanted to share a few highlights of our Newport Beach stay!

We had the opportunity to stay at a gorgeous resort called Pelican Hill. This was one of the most fantastic places I’ve ever gotten to stay! The resort had several restaurants, a spa, two golf courses, breathtaking views, a lovely pool (actually I think there were several), and so much more! Our bungalow overlooked one of the golf courses so our view was killer, and to make a pretty view even better, our room had a fireplace!!! Fun fact: It is my and Price’s dream to one day have a fireplace in our bedroom. We both adore the idea so we are determined to make it happen one day! This bungalow just solidified our theory that sleeping with a fire going would be better than sleeping without one. It was the bomb!

We got a rental car while we were out there, so we were able to take a few mini trips at our leisure. Our favorite mini trip was to Galley Cafe for brunch. The drive was wonderful because we got to see lots of neighborhoods with pretty homes and nice views. (There weren’t many bad views on this trip to be honest!)

Galley was outstanding. It was not touristy at all, so we felt like we got a great taste of local culture by visiting there. The food was divine! It was right on a marina, so after brunch, we took a cruise down a few piers to peek at some pretty boats!

It was pretty fun. 🙂

Later, we caught a shuttle from Pelican Hill down to a cute little beachside community called Crystal Cove!  It had a little restaurant, a couple of small shops, and a lot of people just enjoying the pretty weather on the beach! We enjoyed walking along the water and people watching! 🙂

We had time to explore the resort, squeeze in a visit to the spa, enjoy a wine and cheese tasting at the resort’s cafe, and enjoy coffee overlooking the golf course, among other things!

We LOVED our time in Newport Beach (although sadly we didn’t run into any of our favorite characters from The O.C.) and would definitely love to go back one day! Have any of you ever been? And more importantly, have any of you ever met Seth Cohen or Marissa Cooper?!

Part two of the trip will be up later this week! 🙂 Stay tuned!

Thanks a TON for stopping by today!!! I hope you had a fantastic long Thanksgiving weekend! 🙂 Y’all are awesome! XO!
