Staycation with Girlfriends

Staycation ideas for a group of girls

A couple of weekends ago, several girlfriends and I did a staycation at my house as kind of a little bonding weekend!!

It was SO. MUCH. FUN!

We wanted to do something in town so people could come and go as they needed, and I think it worked out really well! And may I just insert right here that we all have some awesome husbands who were willing to keep kids entertained the weekend we did this! Price took our kids to deer camp, which was just so sweet of him to do, so we ladies could have the casa to ourselves!

On Friday night, people started coming over around 6:00 and I had done a big charcuterie spread for us to eat as our supper! Charcuterie pairs really well with wine and friends and conversation! 🙂

All of those napkins are from Thimblepress! I just love them!! And since this happened on Mother’s Day weekend, I loved all the mom sayings on them!

(( Get “You’re a cool mom!” napkins here and get “Your mom was right” napkins here! ))

Colony Wine Market always has the best selection of wine, so I got us a little variety! I also got some DELICIOUS vanilla liqueur that we mixed with strawberry simple syrup and some Veuve bubbles. Boy, was it wonderful!! Such a fun, happy little drink! There’s a video here!

We stayed up Friday night all gathered in the keeping room just talking! We all learned new things about each other and of course shared lots of laughs!

Several people went home to sleep, and several spent the night! All the beds were fresh and ready for guests, including our pull out sofa which doesn’t get near as much use these days as it used to before we built out our attic and added a bedroom! I think everyone slept pretty good! 🙂

Saturday morning, we had a sweet massage therapist named Linda come and give eight of us massages from The Dempsey Room Spa! haha Linda is THE BOMB and was so sweet to give so many massages back to back! I know her hands were sore at the end of all that. She was an awesome sport!

While massages were happening, the rest of us were eating breakfast (several people brought some wonderful breakfast dishes for us to share!), flipping through magazines, watching movies, and doing manicures and pedicures!

Two of the girls who stayed sell ColorStreet nails, so we got to pick from a huge variety of colors and styles! I did some sparkles on my toes and a pretty new color called Gratitude is Everything on my hands. If you want my friends’ contact info to get some nails for yourself or for your little girl, I’ll pass that info right along! I was feeling SO fresh after a massage and new nails for both hands AND feet!!

The massages lasted the majority of the day, as you can imagine! Eight massages, 45 minutes each with a 10 minute break between each, add right on up! So we all had plenty of time to shower and play with beauty and hair products from Molly Gee and Co. and get ready before our big dinner at The Gathering Saturday night!

The weather was SO nice, so we sat outside under the bistro lights! I tried the Mercantile Mule and the Salmon. HIGHLY recommend both!

After dinner, everyone went back to their own homes to sleep, and I got to have our house all to myself! That next morning, which was Mother’s Day, I woke up at my leisure, enjoyed coffee and some sketch journaling on the back patio, then got ready for church. About that time, kiddos and Price were coming in the back door ready to get their church clothes on, too!

We had an awesome rest of the day together as a family, and I was feeling SO refreshed and well-rested from the staycation!

I’m one thankful girl over here with amazing, loving friends who wanted to staycay together, and with an amazing, loving husband and babies who were cool with me kicking them out of the house! 🙂

Have you ever done a staycation like this before? If you haven’t, I highly recommend! 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope your week is off to a fantastic start! You are SO loved! XO!

Also… This ballon arch is still up! 😉
