When we were at Rosemary Beach a couple of weeks ago (more on that here and here!), I got to visit a shop that I’ve followed on Instagram for years called Willow! They had some super cute stuff, which I totally expected, since I see all of their posts on insta!
Anyway, I went in and fell in love with this black Ulla Johnson dress! The drop waist tie, the fringe at the neck (on both front and back, by the way!), and the fact that it wasn’t too short were all just the things to sell me on this little number!
The sales girl was talking about how much she loves black in the summer, and I started thinking…. You know? I love it too! I love it all year round, but it really is pretty in the summer isn’t it?! Especially when you’ve got a little bit of a beachy glow going on! 🙂
Cool black dresses are so easy to throw on for work, for a meeting, for dinner… Just about anything! The Sseko bag from Arco Avenue, which I use as my computer bag on work days, plus my new favorite thread earrings from Anthro (I’ve worn these almost every day since I got them…) and some simple shoes were all it took to get out the door!
Quick funny story about little black dresses… The abbreviation for little black dress is LBD. Well, one time, my sister-in-law, one of her friends, and I were getting ready to go to a wedding! We all had on little black dresses, so at the reception, I said, “we need to get a picture of us in our LBDs!” My sis-in-law’s friend had NO IDEA what an LBD was so she got really worried that it was something bad! Ha! After my SIL explained what an LBD was, it was NBD. But until then… OMG! HA!
So now I laugh every time I talk about or see LBDs 😉
