The Broadmoor Women’s Ministry event, RESTORE, w The Broadmoor Women’s Ministry event, RESTORE, was over a week ago and OH MY GOODNESS it was amazing! I can’t stop thinking about it! My sweet new friend @simplybethbowman did such a lovely job of planning this fun-filled event with the purpose of helping women feel restored as they left. And I can say, over a week later, my takeaways from this event truly have left me working towards intentional rest and restoration. The speaker at the event, @taraleighcobble, shared about REST and the importance of it! Our good God actually commands rest! How nice is that, if you really sit and think about it?! All other gods say WORK WORK WORK, SPIN YOUR WHEELS… but our God says to take time to rest and restore. The holiday season is a great time to remember that we are commanded to NOT go 90 to nothing… that we need to intentionally take time to connect with our maker. “He *makes* me lie down in green pastures.” I personally am not great at this, so her message was so moving to me. Grateful for a wonderful church, for running into cousins i don’t get to see nearly often enough, for the opportunity to work with one of my besties @rachel2cooley to get ready for @taraleighcobble & @olivia_le_ to visit, for the opportunity to meet those two precious ladies, and for the Christmas season!! So much to be thankful for! HE is where the joy is!
Oh how I love this time of year! All the color and Oh how I love this time of year! All the color and brightness and just the joy in the air are my FAVORITE!! It’s easy to overcommit during December, though, so I made a small list of ways to hopefully help keep your Christmas season a little more chill and maybe just a tad merrier! ✨ get in bed early and fall asleep to a Christmas movie ✨ skip cooking and order supper from a local restaurant through @takeabreakdeliveries and support two small businesses while keeping your kitchen clean! ✨ take a walk and hand-deliver Christmas cards to neighbors. Bonus points if you include candy canes! ✨ maybe skip one of the 17 parties happening in the next few weeks and do the first thing on this list 😆 ✨ OR maybe go to that one party your spouse really wants to go to. Who knows, you might make a new best friend! ✨ get up 15 minutes early, fix some coffee, plug in your tree, and do some prayer journaling. ✨ Pay for the person’s coffee behind you in line! ✨ OR Venmo a couple of friends $5 and tell them coffee’s on you today and that you’re praying for them! ✨ go caroling!! Man, what a lost art. Love me some Christmas carolers That’s all I’ve got for now! Haha I’ll add more ideas here when they hit me! What would you add?! My big, beautiful, baby boy is nine today! Wilson My big, beautiful, baby boy is nine today! Wilson is a hoot and a half and we love him so much! 😂 He’s the tallest third grader in the room, can make friends with the wall, has the sweetest little brand of sensitivity, is baseball and football obsessed, asks the best questions, always makes us laugh, adores his friends, gives really great hugs, is VERY literal 😳, loves his brother and sister and is always rallying for all three of them to sleep in the same room (even on school nights, which we allow because these babies do not keep!), and simply makes life here on earth better!! Eight was a really big year for him because he accepted Jesus into his life as his Lord and savior! I pray this amazing boy of ours continues to grow in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man 💛 I know nine will be an amazing year, too! 🤩 Wilson, you are WONDERFUL! Happy happy birthday!!

Our church does something every year called the Wh Our church does something every year called the White Envelope Project where they give each kid in a certain age range a dollar and the kids have to multiply that money creatively to give back to local missions. Wilson and Lily Ryan have combined their dollars to buy a couple of stamps and envelopes to get this idea off the ground! We made this very silly prank Christmas card together that we are excited to anonymously send out to hopefully spark a few little laughs! HOW IT WORKS: - Venmo @laurel-donahoo $2 for each card you want us to send out. In the memo line, include the name and address of the person you want to receive this card. Please do a separate transaction for each different person you want us to send this to! - we will send the card we designed (featuring some random family we found on the interwebs) plus a “family update” Christmas letter we wrote giving some fun little details of this family’s “life” over the past year. 🤪😆 - the recipient will have no idea this is coming from you or us! The goal is for them to get this randomly in the mail and open it and just laugh 😂😂 someone sent us one of these a couple of years ago and it was hilarious!! - feel free to put your own address in the Venmo memo line of one of your $2 transactions if you want to get one! 😂 We will donate the money we make back to the church, which will go to help rebuild Rolling Fork after the tornadoes earlier this year. Today, 11/30, is National Mousse Day! I’m celebr Today, 11/30, is National Mousse Day! I’m celebrating with a super easy, SUPER yummy recipe! I got everything I needed for this super simple recipe from Corner Market! I’ve been making this recipe for years now so I think I’ve gotten it tweaked to be juuust right! 🤩 EASY CHOCOLATE MOUSSE (makes 5 or 6 servings) Ingredients: 12 ounces bag of semisweet chocolate chips 
2 tablespoons butter (I prefer salted!)
2 large egg yolks
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract Directions: Set a metal mixing bowl in the freezer to be chilling while you get started. You’ll need it in a minute! // In a microwave safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and the butter. Heat in the microwave in 20 or 30 second increments, stirring between each, until completely melted. // Whisk in the egg yolks and set aside to cool. This will make the chocolate mixture pretty thick. It’ll be ok! // Pour the cream into your chilled mixing bowl and beat on medium speed until it starts to thicken. Add the sugar and vanilla and whisk until the cream starts to form stiff peaks. // Carefully fold the whipped cream into the cooled chocolate mixture. Serve immediately or cover and chill until ready to serve. That is IT!! I told you it was easy! 🤩 If you want to take it a step further, you could do what I did and use the remaining cream to make fresh whipped cream. I just put it in the same metal mixing bowl and used my mixer to whip it! Just be sure not to over-whip here! I did not add any sugar to my whipped cream, but you totally could.  You can top this with fresh fruit, chocolate chips, Piroulines, sprinkles… really anything that goes with chocolate would be perfect!  I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do!! I should probably take a moment to disclaim, my kids don’t love this recipe… it’s not super sweet, so it’s more of an “adult” dessert around here! 😆 Perfect for supper clubs or dinner parties! Next time you’re at @cornermarketms, you’ll probably want to go ahead and grab these ingredients juuust to make sure you have them on hand for when you need them 😁 Happy National Mousse Day!!

The holidays can feel as blurry as a coupe of these photos (especially that last one 💨) so here is a reminder to slow down and REST when you can this season. Delight in the little things.
