What Are You Doing Tomorrow Night?

Happy Wednesday!

I hope everyone’s Cinco De Mayo went swimmingly! 🙂 I love CDM because I love Mexican food… And I get to eat it again tonight with the girls from my life group! YAY!

So… Question for ya… What are you doing tomorrow night? Because SummerHouse is having an event that I’m so excited about I can hardly stand it! Suzanne Kasler is coming to town for a book signing!!

Some of you may be asking who Suzanne is… I’ll admit, 8 or 9 years ago I didn’t know either… But now, her name and her work are very recognizable to me because she is just a GODDESS of an interior designer! She’s done her own lines for multiple big companies like Hickory Chair, Lee Jofa, Ballard Designs… And that’s only a few!

Her portion of the Hickory Chair showroom at market last spring actually inspired the Ikea light fixture that I originally bought for Wilson’s nursery! Here are several bunched together:

Cool, huh? And there’s Suzanne!!

I was an idiot and didn’t measure and the fixture hung way too low for the ceilings at our old house, but it’s going to fit perfectly in the new nursery, so I’m excited to see how it ends up looking!

The fact that she chose that fixture was one thing that made me fall in love with her! Well first off, she’s the nicest woman ever. I’m excited to see her again since I only briefly met her at Hickory Chair! But back to why I fell in love with her– She mixed in some modern, inexpensive items with her higher end Hickory Chair pieces and it looked wonderful! She’s great at the “high/low” system that we use a lot at SummerHouse! (Which just means, for budget purposes, mixing in carefully selected lower end pieces with higher end pieces makes things interesting but also doesn’t break the bank!)

Here’s one of my favorite shots I got of her part of the HC showroom from last spring’s market. (And there’s Mrs Lisa Palmer checking out that pretty bed!)

The book that she’s going to be signing at the event is called Timeless Style and it’s a really gorgeous book with pictures of many of her projects over the years. She’s just got a beautiful style that truly is timeless!

Another noteworthy tidbit about the event tomorrow night… Jesse Houston from Saltine is doing the food! That should be music to any Jackson area foodie’s ears! 😉 Yum yum!

Hope to see some of y’all tomorrow night! Looking SO forward to it!

XO!
