All The Messes

Happy Monday! Did y’all have a good Easter? We truly had the best Easter I can remember in a while. It was just a perfect day, minus the fact that the Lady Bulldogs lost the national championship!! But you know what? The fact that the game was on Easter Sunday really put all that into perspective. Who can be upset for too long when you realize that game won’t matter in Heaven! Right?!

One of my favorite things we did yesterday was have both of our families over for supper and to watch the game. The weather was perfect so the kids played in their playhouse and in the bouncy house for most of the evening while the adults did their best to watch most of the game. Price started cooking burgers at halftime, but the game was SO intense, especially during that last quarter, that we didn’t even eat til after the game was over. By that point it was dark, so the kids were all playing inside.

Now, being the art lover that I am, I have always wanted to help cultivate a love for art in my kids’ lives too. So the Easter Bunny may or may not have been directed by me to give the kids washable watercolors, washable markers, drawing pads, stickers, and washable paint pens. With six toddlers confined to the indoors, you better believe we busted into all those things! It was a fantastic time of art creation, including body art and floor art…. I think two kids made it out without paint and marker all over themselves, and had it not been for a special vinyl floor mat, our bricks would be multicolored too right now! Thank goodness for washable everything, right?

So about that vinyl floor mat… I somewhat recently found out about a really cool company called AtraFloor. They do vinyl flooring and have THE COOLEST patterns. I mean, I could get lost on their website. They can do wall to wall flooring, or they can cut you a mat, like they did for me! That mat is what saved our floor from getting super marked up last night. And it’s also kept so many little tiny pieces of play-doh from being crushed into the bricks by little feet over the weeks that we’ve had this thing in place. I have it sitting under my kids’ play table and chairs at all times now and I really do love it. It looks cool and it serves a great purpose! Marker wiped right off of if last night and it looks good as new.
