Big Boy Room + Slowing Down To Enjoy Christmas

Now that we are only 7 weeks away from little girl’s due date, things are getting real around the Hoo house! I cannot believe this pregnancy has flown by so quickly! It’s been SO different from my first one, particularly in speed! Ha!

We decided to move a few things from Wilson’s nursery to baby girl’s nursery (namely the swivel glider and the changing table), move an old chest of drawers that was in our old guest room into Wilson’s room for his new changing table, and fill a few holes in his “big boy room” with this adorable teepee from Land of Nod and this cute, much smaller rocking chair from Poly + Bark! (Are y’all familiar with Poly + Bark? I’d never heard of it til I was searching for this style of chair and now I’m in LOVE! Very affordable and great style!)

We also replaced Wilson’s closet door with a track door because the placement of the doors in that room was not super well thought out, and doorknobs were constantly getting entangled. To eliminate the problem, we took away one of the doors with knobs and replaced it with one we can just push to the left to open and push to the right to close! We’re LOVING it!

We put up the same cute little tree that we had in his room last Christmas at our old house and I still love it! We added a few ornaments this year! And I am in LOVE with the modern little nativity I found at Target earlier this season. Sadly they are sold out and I can’t find another one! I wanted to get some as gifts!

I hope all of you are having a good Christmas season and are able to slow down enough to really enjoy it and reflect on the reason for the season! I’ll admit– I tend to really get frazzled this time of year with all that is going on, but this year, I’ve found a new sense of peace and enjoyment that I am just totally loving! I’m actually genuinely enjoying every single day of the season this year! Sure, I still have moments when I’m like, “Ah! Never enough time!” but then I think… This season is not about gifts and food and parties and decorations (as much as I love all of those things!)  It’s about this incredible gift that God sent to us! A gift that we should celebrate all the time, but ESPECIALLY at this time of year.

I’ve been praying that The Lord would just keep me calm, joy-filled, and keep giving me the peace that I have. I’ve still been able to get everything done that I wanted to, see what could probably go undone without anyone noticing, and enjoy time just chillin with my family each night. It’s been a great Christmas season! Thank you Lord for this time of year! 🙂

Thank you so much for stopping by! Sorry I haven’t been blogging as much, but that’s one of the things I thought I could take a little break from to make time for other things. It’s been good, and I’ve been storing up some fun ideas for 2016! 😉

Have a wonderful weekend and don’t forget to take a few moments to just ENJOY this gift that is this time of year!! XO!
