Our stockings are hung by the chimney with care! And– new this Christmas season at the Donahoo home– an actual chimney! Because we now have a wood burning fireplace! This is something we missed really badly about our old house, so we made it happen last week in this house. Hooray for the smell of real fires in the fireplace! 🙂

On another Christmassy note, Price and I decided not to wrap up our Christmas books for the kids this year. (If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, click here!) I still LOVE this tradition and hope to get back into wrapping the books up in another year or two, but to put it simply, our house right now is chaos! Haha three kids is absolute mayhem (of the most fantastic variety, I must say), so for this year, we have the books in a box next to the fireplace, but we are going to let the kids pick from these for their bedtime stories this year rather than try to round up all three kids each night, get them to decide on one book per day (Wilson and Lily Ry got in so many fights last year over which one book to unwrap!), then all sit still through the reading. It’s a beautiful idea, but not for this life phase.
Definitely bringing it back in a couple of years though!
