My kids and I have started a new tradition on Fridays where we eat lunch outside, picnic style! We’ve been doing it for a month or two now (ever since the weather has been nice) and have loved the tradition that it’s become! Wilson asks for picnics even just for snack time in the afternoons now because he loves just sitting outside and eating!
Since Friday is my day of the week where the kids and I are home together all day, it’s fun to have certain things to look forward to throughout those days. I’ll admit, being home with my little ones ALL day can be pretty exhausting. (BIG TIME props to full time stay-at-home-moms!!) So lunch outside is a great time for us to all get a breath of fresh air, refuel, and just have fun!
I love not having to do dishes when the opportunity presents itself, which is why I always do paper plates and napkins for picnics. It makes cleaning up so much easier. PLUS, Cheeky brand paper products are super cute and fun (as you can see! These particular plates and napkins are from the new Whitney Port collection!) and we all know a huge part of any dining experience is the visual, right?! 😉 If a restaurant is dirty or a plate of food is a big mess, it makes eating a bit less fun, which to me makes it less tasty! But maybe that’s just me! 🙂
Another bonus to using Cheeky brand products is their mission:
After lunch is finished, I recycle what we used and feel good all around: (1) I have no dishes to do, (2) our Cheeky purchases help feed the hungry, and (3) recycling instead of trashing is good for the globe!
It’s probably pretty easy to see why I love Friday picnics 🙂
Speaking of cheeky… this little chipmunk seems to think it’s a good idea to save some lunch for later! 😉

Thank y’all TONS for stopping in today! I hope you have a fun weekend ahead. I hope that if you have the opportunity to eat a meal outside this weekend, even if it’s just with yourself, you do it! 🙂
(( The survey is still up if you would like to take it, by the way! I would be SO appreciative if you would! ))
Thank you to Cheeky for supporting this post
