Happy Stripes

I know some of y’all might think I’m crazy, but I have felt fall in the air pretty much every morning the past week or two! Have any of y’all? With school starting back and football season on the brink, I find myself a tad overwhelmed with all that’s coming up! It’s all great stuff, but it is just a LOT! You know? Over the weekend, Price and I set dates for two socials we are hosting at our house for our awesome life group later this month and in November, got all the Mississippi State football games on our calendar, set a date for our annual Christmas with Cousin Eddie party, set a date for Wilson’s birthday party (both of which are in December!) and… what am I leaving out? I’m sure there’s something! But you see what I mean? It’s a crazy time!

There are two things I try to do better around crazy seasons. Those are (1) dress in happy clothes that make me feel good, like this dress! Aren’t those stripes fun? Love the colors! and (2) work on managing my time better. Currently I’m into something my dad used to do: setting an alarm to go off every 15 minutes. If I have a couple of hours (like I did on Sunday, for example, while kids were napping) I did laundry for 15 minutes, then when that alarm went off, I answered emails for 15 minutes, then went back to putting up laundry for 15 minutes, then went to clean up the kitchen and unload the dishwasher for 15 minutes, and so forth and so on. I find that doing that (especially when I’m home and have the tendency to get distracted by other stuff that needs to be done) makes me 10x more efficient!! I know I have ONE thing to focus on for 15 minutes at a time. And I’m not opposed to a 15 minute coffee/snack break worked in there too! That is a MUST! 😉

I know this wouldn’t work for everyone, but it might be worth a shot if you find time management to be challenging when you’re overwhelmed like I do! 😉

Such a cute dress on you! The weather has me feeling like it will be fall soon too (even though I know that it won’t really happen until late September). But the break from the heat has been nice! Sounds like you have a busy couple of months coming up.
