Healthy Banana Bread

I’m excited to share a recipe with y’all today that, to me, screams fall! I don’t really know why I associate banana bread with fall, but I do. I guess because baking at this time of year seems more festive…?

Anyway, I had some ripe bananas on hand and wanted to make something healthy with them. So I did a little pinterest search for a healthy banana bread recipe and stumbled upon this one!

Although it is a fairly healthy recipe, I decided I’d do the thing Price always asks me not to do, and stray from the recipe to add my own personal twist making it even healthier! He actually agrees that I did a good job this time, though! (Usually he just eats my healthy baking to be sweet. If he eats it at all…)

Healthy Banana Bread Recipe //

So here we go!


2 tablespoons coconut oil
1/2 cup applesauce
1/2 cup stevia in the raw
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 medium bananas; smashed
2 tablespoons honey
2 eggs
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon all spice


Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Spray loaf pan with cooking spray and set aside.

Whisk together coconut oil, applesauce and stevia in a large bowl until smooth. Add in mashed bananas, vanilla, baking soda and salt, beating until well combined. Then, beat in the honey and eggs.

Add the flour and stir until smooth; do not over mix.

Pour batter into greased loaf pan and smooth out the top. Bake at 325 degrees F for about an hour. Check bread by doing the toothpick test. You may need to continue baking for another five or so minutes.

Serve warm and enjoy!
