Lovely Lately

Hey y’all! Happy Monday! I hope y’all had a good weekend! Ours was fantastic… We got to go to a really fun event in Starkville called UnWine Downtown (where your ticket gets you a wine glass, then each store you go into gives you a pour of a different wine plus a food pairing!), then we got in a ton of good family hang time, got to see the Bulldogs pull out a W, had a great Sunday morning at church, then got to hang out with some wonderful friends last night. It was honestly one of my favorite weekends in a good while!

Today I wanted to share a little bit of Lovely Lately with ya! Here’s what’s been going on around here lately…

… Enjoying the prettiness of fall! We had some fall temps for like 3 days around here but now we’re back to 80 degree highs… Thankfully it looks like things should cool off by the weekend! Either way, though, the colorful leaves are stunning! 🙂

… Getting the cutest book in the mail from my friends at Candlewick Press! Thank You Bees is a simple, easy read that helps your kiddos understand the value of things like dirt for growing food, clouds for rain, and sheep for warm clothes! In my opinion, this is a perfect Thanksgiving book because it helps your littles to understand what to be thankful for and why! 🙂

… Finding the PRETTIEST flowers on clearance at Kroger last weekend! I spent $4 on some beautiful blooms that are still going strong a week later. Such day brighteners these are!

… Making these awesome antipasto kebobs for our tailgate last home game! These were inspired by the recipe my friend Nikki at The Fashionable Wife shared on her blog not too long ago. These were a huge hit, so I’ll plan to continue making them regularly (for tailgates and for parties!)

… Getting to dress up for Halloween with Price as Bonnie and Clyde! I went with the more chic Faye Dunaway version of her, so the items I purchased for my costume are things I will definitely wear again soon! I’ve actually already worn the skirt I got for my costume to work! It’s gorgeous, and was so perfect for Bonnie. Maybe I’ll be her every year from here on out! 😉 And Price was such a handsome Clyde!!

… Making our upstairs guest bedroom our home for the next couple of weeks as we basically renovate our master bathroom due to a water leak which caused a little mold. We’re leaving about half of what is already in there alone, but the tile we’re replacing in the shower/bath is GORGE! I cannot wait to share before and afters with y’all!! The process is already a bit slower than we hoped it would be, due to a few unforeseen obstacles before demo, but it’s all good. It makes me extra thankful that we have another place to hole up for as long as we need to! Plus we love sleeping up there every now and then anyway. It’s kind of a fun little adventure! 🙂
