Lovely Lately

It’s time for another edition of Lovely Lately! Here are a few of my favorite little lovelies as of late…

… Enjoying one of the newest additions to our kiddo library! This book, called Wild, Wild Voices: Everyday Rhymes for the Untamed Minds, is by a new author named Amy Lou Miller. I’ve never met Amy in person (only via email) but I feel like we could be related! For one thing, my maiden name is Miller, AND she has a quirky sense of humor that I just get! Wild, Wild Voices is a book filled with fabulous little rhymes that almost remind me of Shel Silverstein’s style. Some of them have actually made me laugh out loud!  Wilson likes this book now, but I think both of them will really appreciate it in a couple of years once their own senses of humor have developed a bit more!

… Having my family over for dinner to celebrate our February birthday people, Katie and Price! We had fun eating Pizza Shack, drinking a new $12 bottle (stay tuned for that next week!) and just laughing like we’ve been known to do!

… Discovering a new-to-me drink when Kroger’s Lacroix selection was super picked over. This stuff, called Spindrift, is amazing!! It’s sparkling water and a little bit of fruit juice and that’s it! It’s so refreshing, and it’s all natural with no sugar. I’m totally hooked!

… These new tassel earrings from the cutest online jewelry shop called Happiness Boutique! They add just the right amount of understated interest to an otherwise somewhat blah look!

… Getting to write a guest blog post for The Source at Bank Plus! I wrote about a topic that has really resonated with me a lot. It’s about why I think work/life balance is kinda stupid… Click here to read the article and see what I mean!

… Getting to relive Lily Ry’s first birthday party through the feature that Social South did on it in their spring issue! It’s a super fun issue all around– be sure to check it out asap!! (You can flip through it here! Her party is on page 42)

… Finishing up a Bible study on Uninvited by Lysa Terkeurst. This book is SO full of wonderful truths! I would recommend this book to just about any woman. It lines right up with scripture, and Lysa just has such a way with words! She’s funny, she’s understanding, she’s real… She is a wonderful teacher and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know my life group friends on a new level because of this book! Highly recommend!
