Our Favorite Kids’ Books

If there was one thing in the world that I wish I had a completely unlimited budget for, it would be kids’ books! (Ok… And clothes, paper napkins, cool glassware, lipstick and gloss, art, coffee mugs, furniture, music… I wouldn’t mind an unlimited budget on those either!)

But seriously. When I walk into a store that has a kids’ book section, I just light up! I LOVE finding fun new books for my kids. Wilson is particularly into books. He could get read to all day, every day! And Lily Ryan seems to enjoy getting read to, even if she’s not quite old enough to be interactive yet!

We have a lot of favorite books, so I wanted to do a little roundup! Of course, after I made this graphic, I thought of a bunch of other books that should’ve also been included! So I’ll mention those too! 🙂

Our favorite kids' books! // www.thehiveblog.comBrown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? A classic! Great for teaching colors and animals. We love this one! // MAPS. I like this book as much as Wilson does! Beautiful illustrations of different countries, items, landmarks, and animals associated with the different countries. It even has the most popular names in the different countries!  // The Foot Book. This is a Dr. Seuss book so you know it’s good! Cute rhymes, fun illustrations, and very educational on opposites! // That’s Not My Lion. We actually love all of the books we have in the “That’s Not My…” series! They are the cutest touch and feel books! // Goodnight Moon. Wilson LOVES this book. He’ll pick it up, bring it to us, and say, “moon?” It’s a bit of a “nonsense” book, but it’s great for learning random words like brush and balloon, which Wilson now loves to point out every time he sees! // The Very Hungry Caterpillar (Beautifully illustrated!) // To go along with the previous… The Very Hungry Caterpillar’s Favorite Words is a favorite for sure. Great way to learn simple, everyday words! // SAFARI. This is THE coolest book!!! Although it’s not technically a kids’ book, it is SUPER entertaining! It has holograms that move each time you turn a page so it looks like you’re watching live animals on a little screen. It’s a little hard to explain, but I highly recommend this book! ALL of us love this one! // Llama Llama Red Pajama. Love this little rhyme! Wilson calls it, “Mama Mama” which, of course, totally melts me!  // Baby’s Very First Black and White Books. These books don’t seem like much at first, but the older Wilson gets, the more I love these! He loves pointing out every little thing in every picture! // Little Blue Truck. There’s nothing I don’t like about this book! Great illustrations with a sweet little message about helping friends! // Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Super fun way to teach the alphabet! // God Gave Us You. The sweetest book about little growing families. This one makes me cry 🙂

These are our faves. What are yours?! I’m always looking for great books to add to our collection, so please share!!

And don’t forget that this sale is still good through midnight tonight!! 🙂

We love any of the Pigeon books (Don’t Let The Pigeon Stay Up Late, etc) by Mo Willems. The pigeon talks directly to the kids, which they love, and the writing is funny for both them and adults!
