Happy FriYAY!

Today I wanted to share a happy cocktail recipe that should get your weekend started on the right foot! These beergaritas (margs made with beer) are perfectly light and refreshing, super easy, and can be served either on the rocks or frozen!

Here’s what ya need:

3 oz clear tequila
1 oz triple sec or orange liqueur (I used dry curaco)
juice from 3 lemons and/or limes
1 packet of stevia
1 bottle of light beer

Put the first 4 ingredients (everything but the beer) together in a shaker and shake! (If you need a cheat sheet on measuring out ounces using your measuring cups and spoons, click here!) Grab two 10 to 12 ounce glasses and divide the mixture evenly between the two glasses.

If you want your margaritas on the rocks, then add a small amount of ice to the mixture and fill the rest of the glass with beer. Mix gently and enjoy!

If you want your margs frozen, divide the beer evenly between the two glasses, then stick your drinks in the freezer for 2 or 3 hours! Since the freezing point for liquor is super low, the drinks won’t fully freeze. Once you take them out, they’ll be icy, slushy, and delicious! If you leave them in for more than 3 or 4 hours, they might be a little too icy. But you can always take them out and let them thaw for a few minutes. 🙂

I did a little research and math and figured out that each of these margs contains about 200 calories (the whole recipe is about 400.) So that’s about half the calories of most 10 ounce margaritas!! Yay!

Cheers to a great weekend! Hope you enjoy! Thank you for stopping by!
