Ode To Our Old House

(So this isn’t technically an ode, but that is just the word I kept coming back to…)

Now that we are finally starting to feel semi-settled into our new house (emphasis on the semi), I feel like I need to take a moment and reflect on how wonderful our old house was to us. We loved that house! And we were not looking to move! (In case you missed the story about how we happened upon the new crib, you can read about it here!)

The Lord led us to this beautiful new home with which we are fully in love, but that doesn’t mean we can’t miss our old home!

It was the house we came home to as newlyweds.

It was the beagles’ first home.

And Ringo’s first home.

And Wilson’s first home!

A special little place it is!!

It was where I holed up after finding out that I wasn’t going to get to be Anna‘s mama on earth. (I’ll see her one day, though!)

It was the site of many back yard bonfires.

And family dinners.

And the inaugural Savoy Park neighbor night.

And the annual Christmas with Cousin Eddie parties…

It was where Price and I planted our first garden together!

Where we shared a street with our brother and sister-in-law (and nephew!)

Where we planted a tiny little willow tree (which is now huge and beautiful only five(ish) years later!)

Where we worked puzzles and made cookies every Christmas. That’s our own Donahoo family tradition 🙂

Where we rejoiced over the 6 positive pregnancy tests I took the day I found out we were pregnant with Wilson. (I kept having to “make sure” I was reading the results correctly…)

Where the first two Those Who Speak meetings happened.

Where we had many a breakfast in bed.

Where we fell asleep on the sofa while staying up way too late more times than we can count.

Where I designed my dream nursery for my dream baby 🙂

SO many wonderful and meaningful memories at that cute ol’ house! It’ll always hold a special place in our hearts.

But now that we’re in the new house, it is time to make even more memories! New memories! We are really looking forward to getting settled here and making this house our new home.

And we do eventually want to have everyone over! We’re trying to put together a housewarming party sometime later this month so I’ll keep y’all posted!

Stay tuned for some pictures later this week of how things are coming together. (Seriously this time. I feel like I keep saying that and nothing keeps happening!) Stuff is finally starting to take a little shape! woo hoo!

I hope you have a great rest of the day! Thanks for stopping by! XO!
