If there is one thing I’ve learned over the course of the last 4.75 years (which I’m realizing has been spent pregnant just as much as not pregnant… WOW!), that thing is the importance of great accessories and a great pair jeans for your season. When most of your clothes don’t fit as well as you wish, and if you’re like me and are somewhat limited due to some unsightly leg veins, you would give almost anything to feel like you look good. Even though appearance is so superficial, there’s just something to feeling like you’ve got some good mojo going on when you’re excessively massive / eight months pregnant. And even when it’s just a regular day during a regular season of life! Can I get an amen? I heard a saying once that has stuck with me for years and years, and that saying is, “When you look good, you play good. When you play good, they pay good!”
SO- There is some merit to looking good, right!?
Anyway, on days when I feel limited to a tee, a flowy jacket and a pair of maternity jeans, it’s super important that (a) those jeans are good jeans (tall friends, please note that Long Tall Sally now has maternity jeans!) and (b) that you’ve got some strong accessories.
I’ve been WAY into big earrings these days. I guess I feel like they balance out my heavy midsection with a little heaviness up top… Anyway, for whatever reason, big earrings make me feel good. These maroon ones from Kendra Scott have been getting some major playing time lately. I also have them in gold and have always loved them! I’ve also enjoyed playing with small, lightweight scarves. Around the neck, in the hair, or on a bag, they just add a little extra to a look.
