What a glorious Monday it is. Why, you ask? It’s so gross and rainy outside!
Well, it is glorious because tickets for MAYMOD are on sale! What is MAYMOD, you ask?
Well, it’s a runway event! This is the second annual runway event presented by SummerHouse (where I work) and Noggins Salon. More about the inaugural one here! It’ll be in May, and the theme is MOD (like mid-century modern meets today), so we made up our own word: MAYMOD.
But this year’s runway event is extra special to me because it’s benefitting Magnolia Speech School!
Why is Magnolia Speech School special, you ask?
Well, because my baby boo Dempsey is deaf (more on that here) and Magnolia Speech School has provided us with such a wonderful early interventionist who has taught us just so much! Magnolia provides wonderful services for kids who are either hearing impaired or have language-based disorders. My amazing boss Lisa Palmer and the super cool Noggins owners Gareth and Kez surprised me with the fact that, because of Dempsey’s story, they wanted an organization close to us to be the beneficiary! Of course I cried happy tears because, #hormones. And because #thatwassoSWEET!!
The show is on May 9th at SummerHouse from 7-9 p.m. This show was pretty legit last year, so we have high expectations for this year’s show, too! There will be looks for the whole family. Mostly for girls, but we will have men’s fashion and children’s fashion, too! Oh, and lots of fabulous jewelry.
The shops participating are Albritton’s Jewelry, Beckham Custom Jewelry, Blithe and Vine, Forty Four Fifty, Hemline, Kendra Scott at Highland Village, Maison Weiss, The Rogue, Row 10 Baby, and Treehouse Boutique. You can go to maymodevent.com to purchase tickets. General admission is $20, and to reserve a runway-side seat, it’s $120. Remember, this money is going to MSS! 🙂 Oh, and the first 25 people who purchase runway-side seats get some pretty awesome swag bags. So that’s cool. More detailed information shall be presented soon, but for now, please save the date and go ahead and grab a ticket! You will be able to purchase tickets at the door the night of the event, they’ll just be $25 instead of $20. So we highly encourage pre-purchasing! 🙂
