It’s time for me to lighten up! 💛✨ I went It’s time for me to lighten up! 💛✨ I went in for my annual blonding balayage at the prettiest new salon in Ridgeland: @salonsaintellis! This salon is an @artsytracy vision, so as you can see, it’s absolutely fabulous and SO well detailed! But we would expect nothing less! 🤩 I looooved my time in this gorgeous space! As you can also hopefully see, I’m loving my lighter hair! ☀️🫶 I love a balayage because it grows out so well, leaving it to where I only get color once per year. I enjoy being darker haired in the colder months, then back to blonde for the warm ones! 😆 If you’re looking for a cool new salon… @salonsaintellis is it!
✨ THE WONDER YEARS ✨ I LOVE the @axisconversa ✨ THE WONDER YEARS ✨ I LOVE the @axisconversations email newsletter and podcast. I try to take time to dive into them weekly, because they’re always so good! This week’s about WONDER really stood out to me. Wonder and miracles are ALL AROUND. On our good days and on our bad days. God is present in them. But how numb to wonder have we become? How many miracles right in front of our faces go unnoticed? My challenge to myself (and to you) is to make it a point to notice and verbally out loud thank God for the moments of wonder that give me pause. I pray I’m unhurried enough to notice all the little pieces of joy all around us. I feel like springtime is particularly wonder-filled! What little pieces of your day are the most wonderful? The most miraculous? Are you good at catching the little moments? I want to get better at it 🥰 Join me??
I ran across an old blog post from five years ago I ran across an old blog post from five years ago about these little Easter story printables that we still use every Easter with our kids! Comment EASTER and I’ll send you the old post where you can get to the free printables! They are an easy way to weave the Easter story into the Easter basket fun on the morning of. These printables (there are two color themes but otherwise they’re the same) are easy to use: print one out (it fits on a regular sheet of paper), cut it into the 12 parts, then put one part in each of twelve Easter eggs (maybe along with candy or something!) We do four story eggs per each of our three kids, then they work together to put them in order according to scripture. They just might have to get their bibles out to double check themselves! 🤩 It’s great because it gets them talking about the Easter story and how meaningful that day is!! ☀️ So if you comment EASTER I’ll send you the link to the post where you can get the printables! Let’s go to a trampoline park with a cochlear ki Let’s go to a trampoline park with a cochlear kid! Because my CI kiddo has a low magnet strength due to a skin sensitivity, he opts to take his devices totally off rather than risk losing them in one of these foam block pits.🤣 (Sometimes we will use the little straps that connect his ears to his shirt, but honestly, those bother him more than help him!) We don’t sign, but he is great at lip reading, so that’s how we communicate on days like this. It never fails, though… the moment I take eyes off of him, he climbs on something he isn’t supposed to and a trampoline park referee yells at him. Little do they know, he can’t hear them! So I usually just go tell them, “he’s deaf so yell at me and I will communicate with him!” (And bless their hearts- they always feel so bad about yelling at him so I always try to joke and lighten the mood!) Because of such scenarios, I’m not currently able to sit and read a book. I’m within ear shot at all times. That’s ok though because I have a front row seat to watching him take in all the fun! He says he likes jumping in silence and is pretty sure he has just as much (if not more) fun than all the hearing kiddos! We love trampoline parks and can’t wait to go back! 🤩
